6 Reasons to use crockpot or Instant Pot

Instant Pot
Crockpot

I have had a crockpot for years, yet I only used it to cook dishes that I would take to potlucks and family gatherings when I needed to take it on the go and reheat. At that time, I thought those were the only times you need a crockpot or instant pot (but I was so wrong).

Little did I know back then that the crockpot that set on the top of my cabinets could help my life and help make cooking so much easier for me and my kids.

Now flash back to two years ago when I learned about the Crockpot and Instant pot movement (yes, child it is a whole movement). Talk about game changer, I learned about all the great benefits that came with having one or even both of these in your home and how to implement them into your day- to- day life.

First

You can cook all your favorite foods and it’s all from scratch

You can cook anything (I mean anything) in a crockpot or instant pot. From breakfast to dinner, side dishes to one pot meals, and desserts, if you can think it, you can cook it.

Second

You don’t have to know how to cook

All you have to do is get the ingredients (for the meal you want to cook) and place them into the pot, set the timer and you’re done. It cooks while you are doing your day-to-day task.

This is what they call Fix-it and Forget-it (Guess what? There is a cookbook series with the same name). You can also use the Dump and Go recipes as well; you can find them on blogs, Pinterest and dump and go cookbooks.

Third

Most meals don’t have a lot of ingredients

You can find hundreds of meals that take 3 to 5 ingredients. This saves you time and money if you are on a tight budget.

Four

Easy to meal Plan

All my meal plans are crockpot meals for dinner. Since my children are grown and at this time it’s just me and my daughter. I just make all are meal plans from my crockpot books, I start the meal when I come home (since I work at night), and it’s done cooking when I get up and my daughter comes home for work.

What we don’t eat that night can be used for lunch the next day or can be placed in the freezer to eat at a later date (all we have to do is reheat it).

Five

Saves time and Money

Using Crockpot/ Instant pot meals along with a meal plan takes all the guess work out of what you are having for dinner (and even lunch) on a day-to-day base. This saves you money because all you have to buy is what you need for the meals. I meal plan two weeks at a time some people meal plan, a month or a few months at a time.

They save money by getting their food in bulk, you also save money by not using the stove or oven as much (saves on your electric bill). You spend less money by cooking at home then eating out all the time.

Saves you time because you can prep for the meals the night before (if you want to) and just put everything in the pot when you ready and set the timer to cook as long as you like (you can have it cook for 2hr to 10hr). No hovering over pots and pans.

If you don’t want to prepper for the next night, most of the meals don’t have long prep times so you can just take a few minutes before you place the food in the pot.

Six

You and your family eat healthier

You pick the meals so you can make healthy meals for you and or your family. They have a healthy meals crockpot/ Instant pot cookbook if you need ideas, but you can find them online too.

You can make meatless meals as well as vegan meals to help save money and eat healthy, I am a diabetic, so I use a diabetic crockpot cookbook and meals from Pinterest.

If you have a garden, use the fresh produce you have grown into your meals

Using the crockpot/ Instant pot you can eat healthy meals without having to be in the kitchen for hours.

Well, that’s all that I have for today, I hope this helps you on your journey.
