6 Decluttering Ideas

When it comes to decluttering their home, most people would rather get their teeth pulled than try to go through all the extra stuff they have collected over the years.

However, decluttering your home and life is one of the first steps to a frugal lifestyle. Being frugal is not just about cutting cost its also living without things you don’t need.

To become a minimalist, you must do a major decluttering of your home and your life. The less stuff you have, the simpler your life will be, and the less you must maintain.

The problem? Decluttering is not an easy job, depending on your life and household. It takes time and a lot of motivation, and did I say time?

So to help, I have listed below 6 ideas to help you get started:

30 day Declutter Challenge

This challenge is designed to help you declutter your home in 30-days.

There is a 30-day declutter chart or calendar that you can print out with what area of your home you should declutter for each day for 30 days. There are many different virgins on the calendar/ chart, so you can choose the one that best suites you.

40 Bags in 40 Days or 30 Bags in 30 Days

This is used during spring cleaning time( but you can do it any time of the year). In this challenge, you will declutter one area of your home daily. You are going to fill up one bag per day. This challenge comes with its hashtag( #40Bagsin40Days).

Closet-Hanger Method

This hack helps with decluttering your closet. If you have many clothes and it’s hard to let go of the things you don’t wear or can’t wear any longer, this hack will help.

Face all closet hanger hooks away from you. Once you wear an item, turn the hanger hook toward you, every hook is still facing away from you and can be sold or donated, or place the hooks in the reverse direction. Then after you wear an item, please place it in the correct direction. After a few months, you can sell or donate the close that you are still in the reverse direction.

The 12-12-12 Challenge

This is good for families because it can be a game or competition( but anyone can do it).

For this challenge, you pick out 12 items that need to be thrown away, 12 that need to be donated, and 12 that need to be returned to their proper place.

You can do this for the whole house or just one room.

Decluttering doesn’t have to be painful if you have the right plan and strategy. I hope you can take these ideas and start removing unwanted things from your home and your life.

Well that all that I have for today, I hope this helps you on your journey.
