How I use cash back apps

Apps have been one big help to me in recent years. When I started couponing, I learned about all the apps that couponers use to help them while they coupon. Most of these apps were for finding more coupons, but apps can help you earn extra cash while shopping or just put a little more money in your pocket.

When I started using apps, I had a problem remembering to use them. Since I have been couponing the last 5 years of my life( I’ve gotten a lot better). So much so that my daughter calls me the app queen.

I use apps for everything from getting cash for groceries to earning money back and discounts on my gas. I have also learned how to stack apps to get the most I can.

Below is a list of the apps that I use daily, weekly, and monthly.

Fetch Rewards

Fetch is an app that lets you collect coins to get gift cards. So you can start earning gift cards with just $5 worth of points. What I love about this app is that you can stack it with all apps and have 3 ways to get cashback.

How it works is simple you scan any receipts you get. It doesn’t matter what you buy or where it’s from. So if you go to get an oil change, you can use the receipt, get a tooth pulled, use the receipt, buy groceries, and use that receipt. When I say any receipt, I mean any receipt; you can get points from e-receipts and amazon. You just have to select e-receipts and put in your amazon account information, and every time you click on e-receipt, it will automatically scan your account.

Another way you can get points or coins is by buying anything on the app. For example, it will say something like 4,000 points for Dove shampoo and conditioner. If you buy the product, then you will get the points attached to the product.

The last way to get points is by inviting friends and family to use the app. When you use the app, you will have a code you can give people to use when they sign up for the app. Once they use your code and upload their first receipt, you get 2,000 points, and they get 2,000 points. That equals $2; every 1,000 points are equal to $1.

Ibotta

Ibotta is a cashback app you can use when shopping for groceries and personal care items. You can get cash back on anything from deodorant to your favorite liquor bottle.

Ibotta also has multiple ways to get cash back as well. For example, with this app, once you reach $25, you can cash out (real money) you can cash out to your bank or to Pay Pal.

How it works is you click on the items you will buy in the app that you want cash back from their list. Once you buy the item, you upload your receipt, and the money will be in the app by the next day.

You can also get bonuses for shopping for specific items and buying so many offers at a time.

You can also get cash back for inviting friends and family to use the app. You can get $10 for every person that you get to use the app.

Another reason I like to use the app is that you can also get free goods and other items. How this work is the app will give you the total amount on the price of the item if you buy it. So, you got it for free due to getting your money back in full. If you have a Walmart plus account, you can add the account to the app, and every time you pay with the card on that account, you don’t have to upload the receipt. It will do it for you.

GasBuddy

GasBuddy is an app that gives you a % of your gas. I use this with my reward account at all the gas stations.

How it works, GasBuddy sends you a reward card that you link up with your bank or credit card. Then, when it is time to pay at the pump, you use the GasBuddy card to deliver. Then GasBuddy takes a % of your payment, giving you a discount on your gas.

Now you can’t use just any gas station. It has to be from the list on the app. However, this app can get up to 5% or more in discount gas.

GetUpside

GetUpside is another app that I use to save money on gas. This app, unlike GasBuddy, gives you cash back when you buy gas.

How it works, you link a debit or credit card to the app. When you get gas, you open the app and choose a gas station from their list. When you are at the station, you open the app and claim your cashback for that station; you pay with the card you have linked on the app. Once you hit claim, you have a set time to make your transaction. 24 hours later or sooner, you will have the cash back on your app.

You can cash your money as soon as you make it into Pay Pal or your bank.

You can link your GasBuddy card to the GetUpside app. If you have a gas station on both apps, you can get a discount from GasBuddy by paying with the card and getting the cashback from the GetUpside app. Remember that GasBuddy is linked to your bank account, so the payment still comes from your account.

Checkout51

Checkout51 is an app where you can get cash back 3 ways. I don’t use this much because I don’t buy many items they usually have on the app.

How it works, you click on the items in the app that you will buy and then upload the receipt to get the cashback.

You can also get cash back by doing surveys through the app. Another way to get some money back is by uploading your gas receipts onto the app.

Coupon.com

Coupon.com is an app where you can get cash back and printable coupons.

You can click on the coupons you want and sign in to print. You get the cashback from the app by clicking on the products you will buy that are on the list in the app.

You link your bank or credit card (you can also use a Pay Pal account) to the app, and once you upload your receipt, you will get the cashback into your account.

Rakuten– used to be Ebates

Rakuten is a cashback app that you use to shop online. There are hundreds of stores that you can shop from.

How it works, you open up the app and go to the store where you are going to shop. This will open up a window to the store. Once in the store, you shop for what you want and check out. Rakuten will then give you the cashback offer for that store. It takes up to 24 hours to get the cashback from the app.

You link your bank or Pay Pal account to the app, and Rakuten will place the money into that account.

The best way to use cashback apps is by using as many as you can at one time. This way, you are getting cash back from several places at once.

Using a cashback credit card along with these apps is also a plus. This gives you another way to get money from just buying the things you use daily.

Couponing these apps helps you buy products for as little to no money on top of getting cash back.

Will that be all I have for today? I hope this helps you on your journey.
